SALIS instituted the following awards to recognise and encourage LIS professionals those who contribute for the profession and society.

Application/Nomination is invited for the following awards for the year 2025. The filled-in applcation with proper evidence [only printed copies] as per the instructions
given below for each award should reach us on or before 31.10.2026

All the Awardees will be presented a memento/Citation and shawl. The venue and date of the presentation of the awards will be annouced later .

The other awards are sponsored by our senior members The aim of these award are to encourage library professionals who contribute more to the profession/Society

Eligibility Criteria for all the Awards

1.Applicant/Nominee should be a citizen of India and his/her conduct must be good.
2.The applicant should be a working library professional who holds at least Bachelors degree in library science or its equivalent.
3.Interested professionals should apply in the prescribed application form only
4.Nomination can be self or Head of the institution or by a responsible senior library professional. For all national-level awards, the application must include a recommendation from the Head of the Institution or a very senior professional.
5.For all the NATIONAL-level awards and research awards, only publications in Web of Science (WoS)- or Scopus-indexed journals with an impact factor will be considered.
A copy of the first page of each article published in a WoS- or Scopus-indexed journal with an impact factor must be enclosed with the application.
6.Those who have received any award from SALIS will be eligible to apply for another SALIS award only after completing a period of five years from the date of receipt of the previous award..
7.Applications without full details and support documents will be rejected. Enclose separate application/ sheets wherever necessary for each award and give full details
8.The application form can be downloaded from SALIS website www.salis.in /> 9.Filled application [indicating the year of the Award] should reach the office on or before 31.10.2026
10.The decision of the committee constituted by SALIS to select the candidate for the award is final. If no suitable candidate is found among the applications received, the Award Committee reserves the right to nominate a suitable candidate.
11.The Award committee may consider his/her application for any other suitable award if more quailified appications/nominations received. If a candidate has received an award from SALIS in any category, they will be considered for another award only after a gap of five years.
12.Award Committee has the right to post-pone or cancel the award for any unavoidable reason.
13. he awards will be presented only to recipients who attend the award ceremony in person. They will neither be sent by post nor handed over to anyone else on behalf of the recipients. Therefore, please apply only if you are certain that you will be able to attend the award ceremony in person to receive the award.
14. We will not accept application/nomination by e-mail. Please avoid oral communication by mobile/phone
15. Please note that SALIS will not collect any registration fees or accept money in any form for the Awards. Award recipients will be selected solely on the basis of their merit, service and contributions to the profession, an to the society.
